What do you, my 3 readers, suggest or do you do anything at all?
Most of our photos are on DVR's, or saved in offsite areas like my Hotmail address. We make copies of our hard drive every so often, because we have already had a laptop fry. The best of them we have printed, also, so we can look at them every day on the fridge.
We do need to prune and save again. Save, print, enjoy, SAVE again.
It is no different than protecting negatives. Those DVR's get to be in the fire safe. :-) Next to the marriage license and the car titles.
