Caribbean Vacation pt 1
We were blessed to get to go on Amy's work bonus trip with her co-workers and boss this past week. It was a 7 day southern Caribbean cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's, Adventure of the Seas. It is not the largest ship, but was the last time we cruised, and now they are building one that will hold nearly double the amount of people (Genesis class)!We left from San Juan, Puerto Rico Sunday and spent a day at sea getting to Aruba. That night was formal night at dinner that you see in the pics below. At Aruba we had an excursion to a lighthouse and then to the famous Palm Beach for a few hours before heading back to the ship. The next day was Curacao, which to be honest, I'd never even heard of but it was a nice port as well. We took some online advice and ditched the tourist areas and headed to a small but very nice beach, Portomarie. On the way back we saw a flamingo area and then did some shopping around town.
The ship is incredible on it's own and very large (almost too much) having it's own mall shopping area and ice skating rink, movie theater, rock climbing wall, numerous pools, hot tubs, and of course restaurants and bars. There were over 3k passengers on board. It was all very nice and the evening entertainment was great as well. The second half of the trip will be in part 2 entry coming later this week.
