Around Lariat Trail
While not as juicy as the schlock of Wisteria Lane, our neighborhood has been thrown into a nice little political fray of late. Kind of a mixture of Desperate Housewives meets Survivor. Seems as though in our large and growing neighborhood that most all of the housing addition's board is now located on our short street (go Lariat Trail!), and there are some not too happy about some conflicts of interest going on concerning the granting of variances and such. So much so that 2-page flyers were posted to our door when returning from the weekend calling for the resignation of all our neighbors from the board of directors, including the president, by another board member (not from our hallowed street) along with accusations of ignoring a neighborhood petition, dishonesty, and things most foul (well, maybe not that last part).
At least it's something to talk about and spices up the neighborhood. And here I was thinking about joining the housing addition board...
Claire continues to surprise us with her observant behavior. You know you eat out too much when stopped at a Sonic your 20 month old child leans out the window and tells the speaker "Juice" and "Eat" along with other jibber-jabber without any notice, casually expecting the food to come. We've come accustomed to just look at each other and shake our heads.

We had the same thing happen in our neighborhood. We had a bunch of complaining neighbors (you know, the type that complains but does absolutely nothing to improve the situation) and they forced our entire board to resign, including the president who was embezzling money to pay for alcohol. It was lovely. Peter was on the board but not anymore - he hated it. We even had two cops show up at the meeting in December "just in case." It's been pretty hateful and a bunch of houses are up for sale but they'll be on the market for at least 6 months or longer.
Anyway, funny about Claire. Molly always tries to order "frech fries" through the drive thru - screaming from the backseat. And she wants a sucker when we go through the drive thru at Walgreens. Cute kids.

KC likes to put the card in the machine. Lately when I asked her what she wants for dinner she says nuggets from McDonalds and tator tots from Sonic.
