Upgrade
Various version of the new Internet Explorer have been available for a while and now the final version 7 is available for download. For most of you it will be automatically delivered over the next couple weeks via your automatic updates.
So what's the point of this post? A small caution notice. As mentioned a few months ago, this is not your mother's browser, although happily mine uses Firefox, in fact it is quite different from your regular Explorer that you're used to. Although it does try to implement some new features that other browsers have had for a while, such as extensions, live feeds/RSS, and tabbed browsing (you'll never go back to a single window per page again!) it's not without its quirks. Plus many of the extensions that make it more useful charge for downloading them! This is quite a contrast to the popular Firefox web browser where all add-on extensions are free and there are a ton of them to fit your needs. Plus Firefox, for now, keeps the look and feel of a traditional browser (plus is more standards compliant). But if you do use the new IE7, be sure and go through the full tutorial when downloaded, otherwise you'll likely be lost.
